Operates on 12 volts DC, Regulated
- Controls six (6) 2 or 3-aspect trackside Signal heads
- No complicated DIP Switches to set!
- RED INPUTS: Each signal is changed to Red by applying a Negative Voltage to any 1, 2, or 3 of its Red Input Terminals. Red Inputs can be from Block Occupancy Detectors (such as our DET-1), Turnout Position Switches, or Dispatcher's Control Panel Switches. Red Inputs override Yellow Inputs and Greens
- YELLOW INPUTS: Optional, each signal can be equipped to change to Yellow by connecting a short Jumper Wire from the next signal's Red Output Terminal to its "N" Input Terminal. Yellow overrides Green.
- OUTPUTS (Red, Yellow, Green) operate a variety of Trackside Signals. Depending upon which type of trackside signals are utilized, our RD Series of Signal Drivers may be required. RD's are not required when operating Common-Positive LED's (only external dropping resistors are needed). The following types of Trackside Signals can be operated through the S-6 Signal Controller:
- LED Signals wired with Common Positive: Operate directly from the S-6, with additional external Dropping Resistors (User provided)
- LED Signals wired with Common Negative: Operate with additional Transistor Drivers, using our RD-N Circuit
- Lamp Signals --- must be wired Common Negative: Operate with additional Transistor Drivers, using our RD-N Circuit.
- Searchlight LED Signals with 3 separate LED's, wired with Common Positive: Operate directly from the S-6, with additional external Dropping Resistors (User provided)
- Searchlight LED Signals with 3-lead Common Negative Red-Green LED's: Operate with additional Transistor Drivers and circuitry, using our RD-S Circuit. NOTE: The RD-S Circuit gives the correct Yellow Output when the signal's Yellow Input is actuated (I.e., when the Yellow Input is actuated, the RD-S circuitry operates both the Red and Green simultaneously, which makes the signal appear Yellow.
